Regarding the road outside the village shopThursday, 13 September 2007 There seems to be some more discussions going on in certain parts of the village about the road in front of the village shop. Here is a definitive up to date report. The Parish Council have employed a professional engineer to draw up differing plans for road work changes on the Cambridge Road. This has been going on for about three years and was started in answer to Villagers raising the point that they thought that the road in front of the shop was dangerous due to parked cars. Each one of our “plans”, and I think that there were four in number, where rejected for one reason or another by the Highways Department of Cambridgeshire County Council. We still have some money ear-marked for improvements but the “County” do not see Cambridge Road as a priority when looking at Cambridgeshire as a total. |
