Recent burglaries

Sunday, 24 January 2010

A number of burglaries have occurred in Hardwick and other nearby villages in recent months.

The Neighbourhood Policing Team are taking action to target this type of crime and will be

undertaking high visibility patrols in the village. They welcome residents' assistance with

these enquiries and ask any with information to call the local non-emergency line on 0345 456 4564.

In the meantime villagers are asked to be alert to suspicious activity, including vehicles parked in

suspicious circumstances and people visiting properties to check whether they are vacant - usually knocking and making brief conversation along the lines of "does.....live here?" before moving on.

If you have reason to suspect a burglary may be taking place then call 999.

In other policing news, a new Police Community Support Officer, Karen Mahoney, has joined the Neighbourhood Team.

Regular updates on policing in Hardwick can be obtained through Cambridgeshire Constabulary's E-Cops Service.
