An update on my forthcoming trip to PeruWednesday, 12 September 2007 I have now fully registered to take part in the expedition which is now scheduled for October 2008, not May as I previously told you. I have also registered with South Cambridgeshire District Council to allow me to run an up-market Raffle and here is where I hope that I can ask every-one in the Village to help out. In the near future I will probably be knocking on your door to ask if you would buy a Raffle Ticket to help me reach my goal of £3000. So that you know that everything is above board, and that it is me selling the Tickets, I will be wearing an “Action Medical Research” T-Shirt and have an authorised badge with my photograph on it. The Raffle Tickets will also carry the S.C.D.C. Licence Number on them, and my address. So what can you win by buying a Raffle Ticket:- 1st Prize: 6 Months Free Membership at Greens Leisure, Cambridge (New Members Only) (Kindly donated by Greens Health & Fitness of Cambridge) 2nd Prize: 24 Bottles of Wine 3rd Prize: 6 Bottles of Champagne (Kindly donated by Diageo) 4th Prize: 24 Bottles of Batemans’ Beer (Kindly donated by Batemans of Wainflleet) 5th Prize: Champagne gift set, comprising a bottle of Champagne and some flutes (Kindly donated by The Sunday Times Wine Club) I hope that you agree with me that these are good prizes and well worth the purchase of a ticket or 2, or 3, or 4, or more! Tickets are £2 each or 3 for £5 and you can purchase as many as you like. The Raffle will be drawn on Friday, 14th December 2007. For those of you who go to the Hardwick Sports and Social Club, the Committee have very kindly said that they will allow the Bar Staff to sell Raffle Tickets for me, so, you can get some Tickets when you go for your “pint”, or “whatever”.
